Your Mission...Should you decide to accept it?

Now it sound like Mission Impossible, not the new Tom Cruise version with the insane CGI but the old Peter Graves version with quiet suspense and music to add to your intrigue!

The land search is not on full stop but is in a holding pattern until month end when the sale of our other land closes. It actually looks like it will go through.
I believe Ralph talked abut the last land trip and how we whittled down the list of potential properties we had collected then.

This list is growing again. I thought since it is the quiet and cold time of winter when we all seem to be a bit less that ecstatic about doing things outside in the cold I would give you a mission. Yes...read on and decide if you want to take the risk.

I would love to hear your honest  open opinions on these three latest finds.

We are all at the same place...looking at the weblinks. We have not toured them and have only minimal input from the realtors so far. [confirmation all three are still available]

So here goes....in no particular order.

116 Shady Lane

330 Riddle Road

461 Union Church Lane

All three  links are to the Lands Of America web listing pages.
Now your Mission......should you decide to accept it!

  1. Well, I vote for Union Church Lane. Secluded and surrounded by trees. Of course I am always more interested in the out buildings and figure the more house, the more cleaning. One can always build on land. Price is right, too,

    1. Thank you...it does seen to have a nice secluded location.

  2. I would vote for Union Church Lane. Assuming what I saw slightly to the north east was not commercial livestock farming in those lovely long buildings.

  3. Shady Lane: Great porch; kitchen cabinets to the ceiling for extra storage space; pantry storage; a few strange blue and green walls; a bathroom that needs work; great basement; minimal outbuildings; needs electricity; a lot of house to take care of; fairly populated area.

Riddle Road: Nice basement space; smaller kitchen; pantry area; nice garage/workshop; chicken house; orchard; grapes; lots of space around the house for a garden; a creek!; dead end road is a plus

Union Church Lane: Nice porches; nice garage/shop; maybe a fenced garden area; pond; larger kitchen with good storage; surrounded by trees, good privacy; not so much house to take care of.

I would choose Union Church Lane as well. Thanks for the tour.

    1. This is interesting...I thought Riddle Road would garner more votes! The owner of Shady lane is suppose to have the septic done for the new buyer...but it is a major concern. Thank you for your observations on all three.

  4. Well, I agree. Of the three it is Union Church Lane although only you and Ralph can make this decision. Surrounding properties really need to be looked into before the purchase of any land but I know you know that. Would love to help you move and get settled but we are way far away in Missouri! Also too old to be of much help! Such exciting times though although also SO many decisions and so much work. You can do it! You have waited for this moment in time! Thanks for sharing about it with us. We really enjoy your blog. Marilyn in SWMO

  6. I vote for Union Church Lane, too, given what we have to go by. Mostly for the lot size and placement - trees mean fuel and privacy and oxygen... :) Although I like the idea of living on "Riddle Road" - it has a certain flair. And I really like the house on Shady Lane. However, given all that - the presence of unidentified long buildings would give me pause.

  7. Kim noticed those as well so I went to Google Maps. Not good, it is a set of poultry barns. I am not sure if it is broiler, egg or Turkey.
My computer did not show the photos in big enough format for me to see them on the website. Thank you "team" members!
